VST 6000 Series Acrylic Foam Tapes  

In the automotive industry, the need for strong, high-performance bonding materials keeps growing. The VST 6000 Series acrylic foam tapes are slowly becoming the first choice for both converters and OEM programs. 
Available in white, grey, and black, the series covers a practical range of 0.4mm to 2.0mm thicknesses, with a density of 800 kg/m³ acrylic foam that has shown consistent performance across a variety of substrates. 
Increased attention to chemical content has been a major shift in the market. In that respect, the VST 6000 Series stands out: all grades are fully PFAS free, aligning with the tightening regulatory landscape and the sustainability targets many OEMs are now working toward. 
The tapes are supplied with either a 135-mic red PE liner—available in both standard un siliconised and special order siliconised versions—or a 120-gsm white PE coated paper liner, giving converters flexibility depending on their processing requirements. 

Performance Validation and OEM Testing 

Independent testing on OEM supplied‑ paint panels has confirmed that the grey VST 6000 Series (0.4–2.0mm) meets the performance criteria for a range of exterior and interior automotive applications, including: 

• Badges & Gaskets.  

• Body side mouldings.  

• Roof rail attachment. 

• Tread Plate bonding. 

• Antennae bonding. 

These tests were conducted in line with the relevant OEM specifications, rather than generic lab conditions, which gives the results more practical relevance. 

The series has achieved compliance with several key automotive standards: 

• Toyota Engineering Standard TSK5705G 

• Ford Specification WSS‑M11P65 

• Stellantis Specification MS 90525 

Adoption Through Global Converter Networks 

Because the VST range is typically supplied into OEMs via specialist converters, formal approvals don’t always appear under the VST name. Even so, the material is already embedded in production programs across a wide range of manufacturers. 

In the UK, converters are supplying VST 6000 Series materials into JLR, Nissan, Bentley, Rolls-Royce‑, and Aston Martin. Internationally, the series is used in programs with Mitsubishi, Isuzu, GM Korea, Toyota, Ford, Stellantis, and Hyundai.
